April 2016 meteors

In April the meteor camera has recorded 28 meteors all medium and small size. No fireballs. The maximum has been recorded in the 21/22 night with 8 meteors per night. There was 16 useful nights ( in the rest was completely cloudy ) . The distribution can be seen in detail in the above chart ( red marked nights was cloudy  and the camera was shut down) The activity is very low in the beginning of the month ( 4 days with clear sky but no meteors in our field) In contrast we have a spike in 21/22 April.

March 2016 Meteors

In March the meteor camera has recorded 32 meteors all medium and small size. No fireballs. The maximum has been recorded in the 6/7  and 25/26 March nights with 5 meteors per night. There was 13 useful nights ( in the rest was completely cloudy ) . The distribution can be seen in detail in the above chart ( red marked nights was cloudy  and the camera was shut down)

February 2016 Meteors

In February the meteor camera has recorded only 7 meteors all medium and small size. No fireballs. The maximum has been recorded in the 16/17 January night with 3 meteors per night. There was 15 useful nights ( in the rest was completely cloudy ) but most of them was partially cloudy (Probably this is the reason for such a small number of captures). The distribution can be seen in detail in the above chart ( red marked nights was cloudy  and the camera was shut down)

January 2016 Meteors

  1. Meteors_January_2016

In January the meteor camera has recorded 24 meteors all medium and small size. No fireballs. The maximum has been recorded in the 14/15 January night with 7 meteors per night. There was 13 useful nights ( in the rest was completely cloudy ) . About 6 night from these 13 was partially cloudy. The distribution can be seen in detail in the above chart ( red marked nights was cloudy  and the camera was shut down)

January 2016

05/06 January – 15 fields imaged containing neglected double stars. A few neglected was measured and also some other double stars which was by chance in the same fields. Also some of the targets got negative confirmations.

13/14 January 8 fields imaged containing some neglectet doubles. Some of them are not usable for astrometry because some field rotation issues. Still there are some nice to see full of stars fields. Most of the fields will be reimaged in a future session. I noticed that near one of the field there is a very populated area (about 1.5×1.5 degrees) containing a lot of doubles that should be measured even if not all are neglected.

19/20 January 18 double stars fields imaged. The failed fields from the last session reimaged.

December 2015

05/06 December – Test remote observing some asteroids. Pointing precision tests. Limit magnitude tests with the new equipment ( Canon 1100D ccd )

14/15 December – First asteroid observation for astrometry purpose

s. Around 20 fields imaged in order to take 3 position for 6 well known asteroids ( to test minor planet astrometric capabilities ). Objects targeted: 589, 622, 635, 747 Winchester , 888 , 4932.

23/24 December – Second night for astrometric determination of th

e targeted asteroids ( unfortunately this was first clear night after more than one week )

30/31 December – First attempt for neglected double star astrometry. About 10 fields was imaged the session was closed because of bad weather ( Clouds covered parts of the sky and eventually all the sky after all ). Due to the unstable weather and also a small misalignement issue no daca could be extracted from this fiel
